8/10 Teen, Superhero, Book
A really hilarious book about a boy born in a ‘Super’ town. While he wants to grow up to be a villain, like his mother, he discovers that his father is actually a superhero, which puts a definite hitch in Renegade’s plans, (what if he ends up with superhero powers!?!). Renegade gets stuck living with his superhero family, and disasters ensue. The book is full of moments that you don’t want the under-teen set to read, and the humor does target teenagers more than it does kids. That being said, the book is very clever, and is full of great moments. The plot is a little wavy, and some of the plot points are a little underdeveloped, (for instance, a hero is born with an h on his thumb and a v indicates a villain, but hero’s can act like villains, and vice versa). This book is verging on most read, and if you’re looking to waste time, I’d recommended it.
