8/10 older teen, movie, fantasy
Zombieland is poetry in motion, a fantastic watch for those out there who love to play zombie games, but don’t have one on hand. The plot is fairly simplistic, but this lends the movie a more clean-cut feel to it, instead of making it boring the simple plot keeps the movie on track. Basically it’s about a reclusive teenager, known only as Columbia, who survives the zombie apocalypse by means of his list of rules, such as “Buckle Up” and “Cardio.” He meets up with Tallahassee, a guy who’s not afraid of… well, anything, and the fun really starts. Along the way they pick up Little Rock and Wichita, go on a quest for a Twinkie, and look for an amusement park fabled to be zombie-free. The movie is a little gory, but buffs of zombie movie will find it tame. The older teen rating comes mostly with the gratuitous use of swearing, so be warned. A great watch for those looking for a funny horror film.
